The Tele-Rad story began in a workshop focused on the staples of mid-century life. Our name originally served as a simple promise of our expertise: Television and Radio. As a local electronics repair shop, we dedicated ourselves to keeping the community connected to the world through their household devices.
A pivotal shift occurred in 1953 when Tele-Rad officially partnered with Motorola. This collaboration transitioned us from home electronics into the vital world of mission-critical communications, providing high-tier service to local businesses and government agencies. During this foundational era, our founders hired Wade Nykamp as their very first employee. His dedication set the standard for the company’s culture, and today, we are honored to be operated by the third generation of Wade’s family.
Over the last 70 years, our footprint has grown alongside the needs of our clients. What started in Holland has expanded into a network of service centers along the shores of Lake Michigan, including locations in Benton Harbor, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and Marquette.  We invite you to visit our Holland office to view our curated collection of vintage equipment—a physical timeline of a seven-decade journey in this industry.
